I believe my role is to help you to help yourself,

I am a BACP counsellor/psychotherapist working in Carmarthenshire Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire.

My professional background is in nursing and midwifery having worked in the NHS for nearly 30 years. It was through this work that I developed an awareness of how easily the human spirit can be damaged when the uniqueness of an individual is not appreciated.

Working within a hospital and General Practice environment I realised that many people need and want more emotional support than busy medical professionals are able to offer. I believe that counselling can be a powerful ,effective and 'healing ' talking treatment .

My counselling approach is integrative , meaning that I draw on and blend specific therapies and techniques and adapt my method of working to suit your individual needs .

You will be positively and warmly accepted for who you are , without judgement . My role is to support you on your uniquely personal journey ,whilst working together to overcome any obstacles in your way. No issue is too small or too big.

Therapy would focus on exploring your unique strengths and potential , developing your own resources to make the choices and changes you feel necessary to live a more meaningful , fulfilling and enjoyable life.

With a growing interest in supporting women during birth I trained as a Childbirth Educator and counsellor with the National Childbirth Trust ( NCT) and am also a Hypnobirthing educator .

I work voluntarily for Cruse (bereavement support ) and Pembrokeshire counselling service.

I am a member of the BACP ( British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy) and abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. This ensures I work ethically and safely with clients and attend regular supervision and training.
