Welcome to the Counselling Page.

Counselling is a way for you to talk about and  explore your feelings in a safe and confidential environment.

This can sometimes be difficult to do with family and friends for various reasons .

Counsellors undergo an extensive training. Part of this training is on how  to listen , support  and assist you in your desire to make positive changes in your life, without judging you ,or attempting to influence you towards a particular course of action .

By creating the space for you to talk freely, counselling can help you begin to understand your feelings , where they come from and what triggers them off.

Counselling aims to facilitate not advise.  Our work together will be about assisting you in using your own personal resources, to examine your difficulties and explore choices you have for dealing with those difficulties. With confidentiality and respect you will be supported  and guided towards finding your own solutions.  I believe you to be  the expert on yourself!

By assisting you as you work through your issues you will begin to see things from a different  and more positive perspective.

Counsellors undergo different types of training and employ various methods of working within their profession. These can include Person Centred counselling ( Client centred / Rogerian ) , Behavioural and Cognitive therapies ( CBT) Psychodynamic ( Adlerian ) to name a few .
